House in Hayward

In Hayward, there exists a house tucked away from it's middle-class neighbors. It is a house, that if you weren't looking for it, would pass it by. Or, if you were looking for it (like me), you'd have to drive by twice in order to find it.

The house is nestled at the bottom of a steep driveway, so the house, itself, cannot be seen from the street. The front of the house seems rather plain, but once you go inside, does the house really shine.

There are three floors to this house: upstairs for the bedrooms, the main floor for the kitchen, living room, family room, and downstairs where there is a romp room. Each of the bedrooms is a different pale color, that while strange at first, works really well together.

On the main floor, there is a very long dining room and bar that merges into the high-vaulted ceiling living room.

And, of course, there's the absolutely gorgeous kitchen.

Coupled with a very large deck on the main floor and a smaller deck just off the master bedroom, it's one of those rare gem in the housing market that will really please its new owner.

Fireworks: July 4th

Okay, so I'm a little late in posting 4th of July firework photos, but better late than never?

For the second year, we headed down to the Redwood City Harbor port to see their fireworks display. It's a small, but it's really good fireworks show, and there's no driving required.

We arrived early and managed to get some decent seats. I set up the tripod, camera, and cable release, and waited for the show to start.

All images were taken with a 100-400mm lens on a Canon 5D. The lens was pre-focused and the shutter was held open for about 3-4 seconds apiece (essentially, from the moment I heard the firework being shot to the 1-2 pops. In this fashion, I could watch the fireworks and take photos (occassionally chimping to ensure I didn't fudge the focus).

I hope you and yours had a safe and sane Fourth of July.
