For the second year, we headed down to the Redwood City Harbor port to see their fireworks display. It's a small, but it's really good fireworks show, and there's no driving required.

We arrived early and managed to get some decent seats. I set up the tripod, camera, and cable release, and waited for the show to start.
All images were taken with a 100-400mm lens on a Canon 5D. The lens was pre-focused and the shutter was held open for about 3-4 seconds apiece (essentially, from the moment I heard the firework being shot to the 1-2 pops. In this fashion, I could watch the fireworks and take photos (occassionally chimping to ensure I didn't fudge the focus).

I hope you and yours had a safe and sane Fourth of July.
